Alternative Music Grade 4-5

Published in 2005, The Alternative Music for Grades 1-5Â is a celebration of the ballet and musical traditions associated with the countries of the five founder members of the Royal Academy of Dance: Italy, France, Denmark, England and Russia.

Volume 2, Grades 4 & 5 introduces music from England and Russia in a memorable musical journey which brings the world of the theatre into the classroom. Inspiring and fun to dance to, this set of music also provides an educational resource on ballet repertoire and its music.Â

Grade 4 includes music by Grainger, Arnold, Sullivan, Boyce, Handel and Coates, and extracts from ballets such as A month in the Country, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Sylvia, Two Pigeons and Solitaire, with music from the Russian folk repertoire for Character.Â

Grade 5 includes music by Tchaikovsky, Minkus, Borodin, from ballets such as Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadà ¨re, Paquita and Les Sylphides, and traditional music from Poland for Character.
